My client, a logistics company, has a need for a contract Business Systems Analyst on a hybrid basis (based in Chicago, Jacksonville, Secaucus or Seattle).
The Business Systems Analyst acts as a liaison among cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, IT professionals, project managers, developers, solution architects, etc. This role is essential for troubleshooting complex issues and collaboratively developing effective solutions. Responsibilities include identifying and documenting functional requirements, conducting workflow and process analysis, evaluating existing application products, and providing strategic recommendations. The analyst also writes detailed specifications for interface programs and oversees the installation of new applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and communicate with key stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their needs. Build and maintain strong relationships across various business departments and groups.
- Data Analysis: Collect, review, and analyze business and industry data, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial reports, and other key metrics to support data-driven decisions.
- Process Improvement: Assess and recommend improvements to business processes using techniques such as business process modeling. Perform gap analysis to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for enhancement.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for projects, processes, and operations. Develop and refine technical workflow diagrams, process maps, and system modifications.
- Application Evaluation: Review and evaluate existing application products to determine their suitability for addressing client requirements. Provide recommendations for enhancements or alternative solutions as needed.
- System Specifications: Write precise specifications for interface programs, ensuring that technical requirements are clearly communicated.
