Advancing Diversity in Engineering Recruitment for a Customer Data Platform

Customer Data Platform | 250+ Headcount

The challenge

Our client, a customer data platform, had a requirement for multiple Senior Software Engineers as well as an Engineering Manager to drive new projects amidst company expansion.

Their current suppliers fell short in delivering diverse shortlists, posing a challenge in an industry predominantly dominated by white males. Furthermore, the roles required a high caliber technical ability; the client needed candidates with niche skillsets within the .net, microservices and distributed systems skillsets.

Our solution

Taking a comprehensive brief, we delved deep into the client's needs, company culture, and diverse shortlist requirements. Leveraging Trilogy's diverse network, extensive LinkedIn searches, and referrals, we crafted a tailored hiring strategy.

In addition to understanding our client's needs, it was essential to align these with the candidates' job aspirations and cultural preferences. Each candidate we presented possessed the requisite skills for the role and met the client's diverse shortlist criteria.

Regular meetings with the client ensured alignment with their expectations, fostering a partnership dynamic rather than the traditional client-agency model.

In instances where budget constraints posed challenges, our established partnership allowed for flexibility in fee structures to accommodate both client and candidate needs.

Outcome

Over a few months, we successfully placed multiple permanent, full-time hires, including 7 Senior Software Engineers and 1 Engineering Manager. Our collaborative efforts led to the Engineering Manager's promotion to Director of Engineering within 6 months, underscoring our ability to foster long-term relationships and facilitate career growth.
